Godsend is a live action role-playing game about earning the favor of the gods, uncovering ancient lore, and actively shaping the future of a shared world.
Back to the classic and beloved Fog format, Godsend combines competitive trials and political machinations with a meaningful narrative exploring the enduring relationship between mortals and gods, the role of religion, and how faith shapes – and is shaped by – history.
At the same time, the game is designed both as a homecoming for returning Fog players and as an accessible entry point for newcomers, thanks to a refined time structure and multiple quality-of-life features tailored to first-time participants.
An outline of what to expect can be found below, while further details will be revealed gradually in the lead-up to the event – and during the game itself.

I. SETTING

For the first time in living memory, the gods address all mortals directly, sending a shared vision that leaves no doubt their call is real.
The six gods of the pantheon reveal their plans to create a unique artifact enabling direct and lasting communication between gods and mortals.
To be used, it must be placed somewhere in the mortal world, and so representatives of all nations are summoned to an ancient sacred site to decide which state will become its host and custodian.
Further aspects of the setting will be revealed gradually through upcoming lore updates right here in the corresponding subpage.

II. GAMEPLAY

Godsend returns to the classic Fog format: one continuous game, one shared world, one unfolding outcome.
Players will engage in a mix of political maneuvering, social play, exploration, combat and divine trials. Success will depend on initiative, cooperation, rivalry, and the ability to act decisively in an uncertain world.
Godsend follows The Fog’s core YCDWYCR philosophy—You Can Do What You Can Represent. Your character’s abilities are defined by what you can convincingly portray, negotiate, build, defend, or destroy.
Most gameplay elements will feel familiar to returning players, but others will be introduced gradually through gameplay updates available right here under Gameplay. This partial disclosure approach to the pre-game communication is aimed at providing players with enough context to choose which parts of the game to play and which to avoid.
Follow us everywhere to stay up-to-date.

III. LOCATION

Shumnatitsa Hut, Rila Mountains (Borovets area, Bulgaria)
Godsend takes place near Shumnatitsa Hut, in a spacious and scenic forested area at the foot of the Rila Mountains. The terrain is green, flat and welcoming, offering a mix of clearings, woodland paths, and natural gathering spots that support both gameplay and downtime.
This new location allows us to offer a different kind of Fog experience – one with more room to breathe, move, and explore. The area provides improved accessibility and conditions for camps, shared spaces and gameplay. By moving the game here, we aim to create a fresh setting with a clearer spatial organization, that supports immersion.
